I am a sound technician, studio facilitator, and sound engineer for a university, working with professional equipment to mix, master, and publish tracks while managing live event sound and post-production editing.
As a sound technician, studio facilitator, and sound engineer, I manage all aspects of sound production for various projects, including working with artists, sound designers, and indie bands. My responsibilities include mixing, mastering, bouncing, and publishing tracks while supporting foley work and advertising soundscapes. With access to cutting-edge studio equipment, I spend countless hours perfecting different audio techniques and troubleshooting studio gear. Whether I’m soldering copper wires, managing analog connections, or working with digital interfaces, I ensure that the studio remains fully operational for all sound-related work.
Beyond studio work, I am actively involved in setting up sound systems for live events and monitoring audio during performances. This includes ensuring the quality of live sound and managing the post-production process, where I mix the recorded audio for republishing. My workspace revolves around a 48-channel mixing board, which has become my primary tool for mastering complex audio tasks. The combination of hands-on technical work and event management allows me to cover the full spectrum of sound engineering, from live performances to final track releases.
I operate in state-of-the-art post-production facilities that feature nonlinear editing stations, including Avid, Adobe Premiere, and Final Cut Pro, as well as a 16-channel digital music-recording studio. The sound studios are equipped with Pro Tools HD and 5.1 surround sound, giving me the tools needed to handle advanced audio post-processing. Additionally, I work with a variety of graphic systems like Photoshop, After Effects, and Cinema 4D for multimedia projects, ensuring every sound project I work on is polished and professional. My work environment also includes video streaming tools for delivering content via the web, showcasing my expertise in both audio and multimedia production.
This role has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of both live and post-production sound work, mastering the use of high-end audio equipment. I learned the importance of precision in sound engineering, particularly when managing complex soundboards and nonlinear editing tools. My technical skills, including equipment repair and setup, have expanded as I regularly troubleshoot and maintain studio facilities. Collaborating with artists and handling live event monitoring has strengthened my ability to balance creative and technical aspects of sound production. Overall, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the audio production pipeline, from live performance to post-processing.
