I contributed to Spring Madhouse, an end-of-year student-run concert, by handling tech, live event management, and visual design, while deepening my understanding of AI integration in event production.
Spring Madhouse was a large-scale, end-of-year concert organized, advertised, and managed by students in the Bandier program, where I played a critical role in both the technical and creative aspects. My primary responsibilities were focused on live event management, which included cueing the acts, handling stage setup and breakdown, and ensuring artist rider fulfillment on the day of the event. Working behind the scenes allowed me to be at the forefront of making sure everything ran smoothly, from transitions between performers to the overall sound and lighting design.
In addition to my live event responsibilities, I also contributed heavily to the visual design aspect of the event. I created the initial design of the final event poster and worked closely with @art_arii, who is credited with adding the finishing touches. This blend of technical execution and creative contribution gave me the chance to exercise both sides of my skill set, providing a comprehensive event production experience. The concert’s success was a result of close collaboration between students, and I particularly valued building strong connections with the artists involved.
Through this experience, I not only developed my event management skills but also furthered my understanding of how AI can be integrated into live events. Whether through sound mixing, stage lighting, or digital visuals, I explored ways in which technology can enhance the production process. This project helped refine my ability to manage high-stakes, real-time event coordination while continuing to push the boundaries of creativity in live entertainment.
Working on Spring Madhouse taught me the importance of balancing technical expertise with creative expression in live event production. I enhanced my skills in managing live sound and stage transitions, while also improving my design abilities through visual branding for the event. Collaborating closely with artists and fellow students sharpened my teamwork and communication skills, crucial for high-pressure situations. Additionally, I explored the potential of AI integration in live events, which furthered my long-term career interests. Overall, the project solidified my expertise in both event management and the intersection of technology and creativity.
